We have been working on our animation project and I found this picture of the Parks and Recreation characters and noticed how each character has a different expression that describes their personality. In particular you can see the way that Ron Swanson's eyebrows are down to make him look angry and Tom's are up to make him look excited. Also, features like hands can help allude to certain emotions. I liked how this artist took something they liked and animated the characters to give them their defined personalities.
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. I really like the body proportions and what they tell the viewer about the character portrayed. I also like the small liberties the artist took when it came to the illustration, it took me a second to recognize April.
