Led Zeppelin III

Such incredible detail went into this album cover.
It looks like a simple mish-mash that could be done on Photoshop in 20 minutes. But Photoshop didn't exist back then in 1970 when this album was released. Another fun aspect of this album is that there is a wheel insert behind the front cover. There are holes on the front of the album that reveal pictures of band members on the wheel. The album was designed by Zacron.

  1. I'm a Zeppelin fan since 1998, when I was 20, so I never lived those times but I'm kind of forever fascinated with so many things sixties/seventies... this artwork is one of my Zepp favorites with Physical Graffiti's and In Through The Out Door. Certainly they were amazing works of art... so well thinked and crafted. For me that whole era - around 1965-1975 - vynil and analogic and contracultural times, was rock's golden era, so many great artists and bands... the creativity and innovation was exploding in all kinds of directions with so much quality, and the colective thinking and consciousness of people. I learn a lot from those magical times, so I'm always quite respecful of what happend in those years.

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Speed Painting

This a painting made in Photoshop by a guy who goes by the name " The Concept Painter " on Youtube. He does lots of Photoshop speed painting videos and also air brush videos. This particular painting took him 3.5 hours to complete and was made using a drawing tablet similar to the ones we use in our class.

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017. Eventually, I will talk about Marvel comic book artists, but not today. If you want to check out more of her work, here is her website:  https://www.anniewuart.com/
