Tommy Helm

Tommy Helm is one of my favorite tattoo artists. (More info here: http://empirestatestudios.com/our-team/tommy-helm/) I love the concepts of tattoos. The fact that you are putting so much faith in an artist and are so in love with their work that you are willing to permanently put it into your skin. With Tommy everything is so well thought out that he is able to pull off anything. He has no forte, he just simply makes great tattoos. Tommy has won Ink Master season 1 and has his own show, Tattoo Nightmares, both on spike (TV channel). He also has great finesse, being able to do cover up tattoos. Cover-ups are hard to do, due to the fact that you are going over a tattoo that is already there. A tattoo that has some horrible reason to be covered up. The fact that he can replace something that brings so much pain to someone with something so beautiful is awesome. He can tell stories in his ink. All he needs is a tattoo machine and some ink. He will bring life to the tattoos.

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Malena Bozzini         Malena Bozzini is a sophomore college student studying psychology. As her passion she is an artist. Her work is so original and abstract in order to dramatize her figures. She creates art out of emotion and uses her feelings to choose color and shape. One of the most interesting facts is that all of her pieces are done with colored pencils. Her art is so expressive that each piece gives out its own vibe. What makes her art unique is that it is inspired by motion and gestures. It is amazing how she developed such a style at such a young age.  Instagram @ malenabozzini

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017. Eventually, I will talk about Marvel comic book artists, but not today. If you want to check out more of her work, here is her website:  https://www.anniewuart.com/
