The Woods

Hey guys! So earlier today I saw "Into the Woods" (great movie by the way!). The movie had so many incredible special effects and everything about it reminded me of DMA. I have noticed since joining the class that I pay a lot more attention (especially in action packed movies) to special effects and realize how long it must've taken to make the movies. Even some movie posters including this one are fascinating because just the font alone is somehow related to the movie. It's incredible to think that I could actually have the capability of making something like that!

  1. AMAZING MOVIE in my humble opinion. But I get what you are saying about how DMA has messed with how you watch movies/tv shows. I can't watch a movie without watching the camera angles and thinking "wow hat would be a great idea for a cd cover". :-)

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Speed Painting

This a painting made in Photoshop by a guy who goes by the name " The Concept Painter " on Youtube. He does lots of Photoshop speed painting videos and also air brush videos. This particular painting took him 3.5 hours to complete and was made using a drawing tablet similar to the ones we use in our class.

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017. Eventually, I will talk about Marvel comic book artists, but not today. If you want to check out more of her work, here is her website:  https://www.anniewuart.com/
