The Zelda Metroid Randomizer

For those who don't know, Nintendo's 90's console the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (snes) has an incredible variety of near timeless games that are widely considered to be the "golden age" of videogames. Megaman X, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario World and Super Mario RPG, and especially the 2 games we're discussing today, Super Metroid and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

These two games have huge communities that still play the games today, almost 30 years later. Super Metroid has one of the largest speedrunning communities, and alongside Metroid, A Link to the Past is considered one of the greatest games ever.

Despite how good these games are, some people want a little more variety when they play the games. Both games have had randomizers created for them, where a seed is created for the game that swaps the items in the game around entirely, meaning that progression is very different and in some ways WAY harder.

If you think one randomizer sounds hard, you've seen nothing. The Zelda Metroid randomizer is a randomizer of BOTH games simultaneously, meaning items from ALTTP can appear in Super Metroid, and SM items can show up in A Link to the Past. You swap between the games via certain door transitions altered in both games, allowing you to try and find progression based items for one game in the other. I managed to beat mine a few days ago, and they're extremely fun but I would absolutely not recommend to anyone who hasn't either experienced both of these games or at least seen full playthroughs of both.

Anyways, for those who want to take the challenge, I'll link the site and ROM files needed to generate a randomizer. I'd recommend using zsnes9x for the emulator, I could only get it working by putting it in a folder on desktop and running it as administrator though.

For those who haven't run ROMs before, remember to extract the content from the .zip files you get from these. Have fun!

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Malena Bozzini         Malena Bozzini is a sophomore college student studying psychology. As her passion she is an artist. Her work is so original and abstract in order to dramatize her figures. She creates art out of emotion and uses her feelings to choose color and shape. One of the most interesting facts is that all of her pieces are done with colored pencils. Her art is so expressive that each piece gives out its own vibe. What makes her art unique is that it is inspired by motion and gestures. It is amazing how she developed such a style at such a young age.  Instagram @ malenabozzini

The Art Of Trevor Henderson

Hello everyone! today I'm going to talk about one of my favorite Instagram artists, Trevor Henderson! The reason why I like Trevor Henderson's art is that I really like how disturbing and creepy is art is. Here are a few examples of some of his art.
