Adiós DMA

What can I say, it's been a crazy ride. The countless hours spent on
one project, the frequent parties to get a classmate to talk to you or
just so someone could bring in chips, guac and salsa, has all led up
to this farewell blog post to sum up my two years in DMA. I have
to say, Mrs. Shields has guided me so much these past two years and
helped me realize what I wanted to do with my life and how to get there.
Next year, I will be attending the University of Cincinnati for Film and Video
Production in the Digital Media Collaborative program with a minor in business,
marketing or Spanish.

This year has been the greatest year of high school. Even though it was full of
stress and senioritis, I loved every minute of it. So here's my advice: if you don't
take AP DMA next... WHAT ARE YOU DOING??? Also, get started on your
concentration and don't slack off! Sketchbooks are pretty relaxing even if you
can't draw to save your life. And please explore all of the possibilities this class
has to offer; I wouldn't be going to UC next year and majoring in Film and Video
Production if I hadn't.
And to all of you reading this, the friends you make in this class will be your best
friends and a part of a small family, and I promise they will be some of your friends
forever!! And because you haven't read it enough already... throw a party for anyone
who doesn't talk to the rest of the class; they'll be talking all the time after that ;) @ben

ALSO: I'm passing down my computer seat to Bella Spleen... it's not a tradition but I'm
going to start it as one, so please pass this tradition down next year! :)

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Speed Painting

This a painting made in Photoshop by a guy who goes by the name " The Concept Painter " on Youtube. He does lots of Photoshop speed painting videos and also air brush videos. This particular painting took him 3.5 hours to complete and was made using a drawing tablet similar to the ones we use in our class.

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017. Eventually, I will talk about Marvel comic book artists, but not today. If you want to check out more of her work, here is her website:  https://www.anniewuart.com/
