These pieces are made by an artist named Eiko Ojala and appear to be made out of paper. I was very surprised to learn that he actually creates these digitally by hand. I think that these pieces are very eye-catching and his technique does a great job of creating the illusion that his pieces are actually made of paper.
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. When i first looked at the images i thought it was actual paper art. Its crazy to find out its digital art. So realistic and pretty. I also like the creative feeling to it.
ReplyDeleteI love the color in these and how it creates depth. I also love how the sharp paper edges make these look very clean.
ReplyDeleteIt's really cool that these are actually made digitally because they definitely look like paper. The artist has done a very good job on the shadows and depth to make it look so realistic.
ReplyDeleteI love the use of color and contrast in these! Reminds me somewhat of double exposure.
ReplyDeleteThese are so cool! It's incredible how realistic they look. The shadows add so much depth to an otherwise flat image and, looking back, it's still hard to believe they're digital! The layers are so interesting.
