Henrietta Harris

I found Henrietta Harris's website on Pinterest and I love her drawings especially in her Landmarks and Features series. She left negative space for the faces and really focused on the hair for the portraits. I love the contrast and detail in these drawings, and think Harris has beautiful paintings as well! 2. I really love how simple and well down these pieces are. I also like how the artist makes her work unique by not just painting/drawing basic portraits. She has made the pieces more interesting with contrasting paint or negative space over the faces.

  4. I love how the negative or blank space adds more life and a story to the images rather than just seeming unfinished! They are very appealing and I love the details in the hair.

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Speed Painting

This a painting made in Photoshop by a guy who goes by the name " The Concept Painter " on Youtube. He does lots of Photoshop speed painting videos and also air brush videos. This particular painting took him 3.5 hours to complete and was made using a drawing tablet similar to the ones we use in our class.

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017. Eventually, I will talk about Marvel comic book artists, but not today. If you want to check out more of her work, here is her website:  https://www.anniewuart.com/
