Illusions In Front of You

I think that it is really interesting how your eyes can fool you and make you see things that are not present where you think they are.  I think that every photo captures many artistic styles and it is amazing how much prospective can do your vision.

  1. I wonder how the artist gets such detail off such course surfaces. The scale of these works really adds to there realism.

  2. I've always been fascinated with sidewalk chalk illusions and find them beautiful and intriguing. The effort of the artist is also amazing because the time spent would be lengthy

  3. I think it's incredible how people can create something 3-D from a 2-D surface. Each piece is so detailed and life like.

  4. Its interesting to think about how the 3D effect only works if you are looking at the image at a certain angle, great attention to detail

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Speed Painting

This a painting made in Photoshop by a guy who goes by the name " The Concept Painter " on Youtube. He does lots of Photoshop speed painting videos and also air brush videos. This particular painting took him 3.5 hours to complete and was made using a drawing tablet similar to the ones we use in our class.

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017. Eventually, I will talk about Marvel comic book artists, but not today. If you want to check out more of her work, here is her website:  https://www.anniewuart.com/
