I found this artist for a project in this class and I've continued to look at her work afterwards. I love the simple style of the contour lines, but her pieces are still so detailed. I love the oriental influences in her pieces that came from growing up in a Chinese family. I also thought it was interesting that she would draw many of these with a pen or illustrator or another program, and then go back through with photoshop to add the colors. I love that approach because it makes it seem like watercolor.
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. ReplyDeleteI really like how there are very detailed contour lines in the hair against the simplicity of the face. I think the small amount of color really makes the pieces more interesting.
