Smart Advertisements

I came across a post that showed a bunch of brand logos and their "hidden" messages. It reminded me of the illustrated words exercise we're doing in class. Here are some examples.

On the Amazon logo, the arrow on the bottom points from the A to the Z emphasizing the fact that Amazon ships "anything from A to Z." I always knew the arrow meant that it was a shipping company, but I never noticed the fact that it pointed from A to Z.
On the Tour de France logo, the "-our" and the yellow circle create a bicyclist.

On the FedEx logo, there is an arrow in the negative space between the E and the X.

Some of these are kind of obvious, but they're all pretty clever. They convey the meaning of the brand by using more than just words.

  1. These are all so cool! I find it interesting that we see logos like this all the Time and don't really notice them until someone points them out.

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Speed Painting

This a painting made in Photoshop by a guy who goes by the name " The Concept Painter " on Youtube. He does lots of Photoshop speed painting videos and also air brush videos. This particular painting took him 3.5 hours to complete and was made using a drawing tablet similar to the ones we use in our class.

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017. Eventually, I will talk about Marvel comic book artists, but not today. If you want to check out more of her work, here is her website:  https://www.anniewuart.com/
