Alexa Meade is an artist who uses the human body as her canvas. She paints people and photographs them, creating the illusion that they are just a 2D painting. I have always loved the idea of creating art using humans because it's incredibly organic. There are many great examples of her work available on the internet if you just search her name.
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. WOW! this is so cool! I like how she is combining a painting and real life in one picture :D
ReplyDeleteThis is probably one of the most interesting things ive seen in a while. Its a very unique way of bringing more life to a still life painted portrait.
ReplyDeleteI like how you can really tell that one is a painting and one person is real. It throws off your perspective because we are used to seeing a painting of someone, not someone real actually in the painting.
