I really like the idea of making almost a drawing from just string. These pieces are all embroidered in some way or another. The ability to recreate pre-known images is impressive. Though some of the works look almost rough, I think it adds to the overall effect. I also like how the spool of string was left below the piece on the last one, to remind the viewer where it came from.
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. I like how the last photo shows how the artist makes the art and i found that really interesting. I also like that 2 dollar bill, it looks very realistic.
