Minecrafts Success

Minecraft. It's a name that is easily recognized. The graphics are so simple, yet it has made it so far. It's a staple now, and it's definitely a very noticeable game, and it is not going to lose its popularity for many years to come. It shows that game graphics don't always have to be the most realistic to be enjoyable.

Minecraft cave and cliffs update

Minecraft has been coming out with new big updates and this is just a nether among them that will change a large portion of the game. This will more then triple the size of the caves in Minecraft add new mobs and a whole new boss mob similar to the ender dragon and wither. this will also add new ores and change the design of the main ore blacks. I'm excited to see how this update will go and to play it when its available.

Inside Out Instagram

After reading a lot of the other blogs, Sydney's post really stuck out to me. I went on Instagram and realized there are accounts for a lot of movies. One of my favorite movies is Inside Out, so I went on Instagram, and turns out there's an account for it too. The username for this account is @pixarinsideout. I really recommend trying to find your favorite Pixar movie as well.

Paramount +

If you miss all of your favorite cartoons from when you were a kid like  Rugrats, Danny Phantom, and more... you need to get Paramount + immediately. This streaming service has everything from Avatar The Last Airbender to  Keenen and Kal. I just bought it and it brings back so many good memories of Saturday cartoons.

Code Geass - You Either Love It Or Hate It

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion that ran from 2006 to 2008 and follows the story of Lelouch Lamperouge. I had started watching the show around a year ago and finished it over the course of said year. My first viewing was extremely positive with few complaints about the show overall. The main character, Lelouch, is one of the most compelling protagonists to date in my opinion. It's been a couple of months since I finished the show and my friend group had expressed interest in watching it together. I took the internet after being reminded of the show to see what other people thought about the show. At first, I found a shocking amount of people expressing their hatred of the show, some claiming the show is the worst example of writing in anime. After watching several videos, positive and negative, I'm ready to reapproach Code Geass and see if it truly holds up. If you have any interest in watching Code Geass, I'd highly recommend NOT looking up anything about the show ...

Finding Dory Instagram

Everyone knows the movie Finding Nemo and the sequel Finding Dory. Both of these movies use animation to create a wonderful film. I love both of these movies and wanted to dig deeper into them. So, I found this Instagram account called pixarfindingdory that has amazing pictures and behind the scenes of this movie. I found this post very interesting because it is a simple drawing that we could make in photoshop.

The Old Nickelodeon Studios Park

Back in the 90's, Nickelodeon opened up Nickelodeon Studios, located in Orlando, Florida with its key purpose to film and animate shows in an area where the public can actually walk through and participate in the process.  The designs and art around the property really encompassed what their shows and cartoons represented, but sadly it closed for good in 2005.  I know shows like Spongebob and Fairly Odd Parents made up a good portion of what I watched as a kid, so to have a place like this where you could witness the whole process would've been an amazing experience.

Onward

The animation in this movie is unbelieveable. Everything looks so real and detailed. It is by far one of my favorite movies. It is very heartfelt and very emotional. I 10/10 reccomend. This reminds me of this class because the whole movie is animated and we are doing animation now.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is an upcoming new tv show that is being realized by Marvel on Disney plus. This show is going to be starting on March 19 and has a huge amount of popularity behind it. You can defiantly expect a lot of big stuff coming to Disney plus and marvel for the upcoming years. Just since the start of 2021, they have produced 2 huge tv shows with amazing reviews and fans, and this is only the start.

Wizard of OZ Remake

Supposedly one of the most classic movies is going to be remade. Nicole Kassell and New Line Cinema are creating a "fresh take" on The Wizard of OZ! I heard about it on the radio and they asked do you think they should remake the classic or just stick with the original? So now I'm asking you guys the same question. Personally, I'd like to see how they are "Reimagining" it. Then again I don't really want another Charlie/Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory situation where there are 2 great movies that are basically the same but they are just different enough they aren't the same. You end up getting the little differences mixed up like which one shows the people leaving the factory, which one shows more of grandpa joes background working in the factory, which one has the kid that ends up inside of the tv and etc.  https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/9523548/wizard-of-oz-remake-in-the-works/

Holly Johnson

Holly Johnson Holly Johnson is an artist on TikTok that I came across one day. She shares a lot of tips and tricks that most;y involve illustrator and photoshop. Knowing that we're almost done in animate I'm really hoping I'll be able to use some of these techniques. Sometimes she explains things really fast however I think they'll be really fun to use.

Disney Animation Instagram

The Disney animation Instagram is very fascinating. It shows some of the amazing techniques and skills Disney uses and previews for new movies coming out. One post that stuck out to me was the Raya the last dragon cover. It looks exactly like something we made in intro with the movie covers!

Anastasia

Anastasia is an animated movie from 1997 made by 20th Century Fox. I just recently rewatched it for the first time in years after finding out that it's on Disney Plus. As I watched I noticed aspects about the backgrounds or certain items in the movie that make it so unique. When you look closely, you begin to realize that nearly nothing in the background moves, the backgrounds all look like paintings and the only moving aspects are the characters. Another thing that makes this movie so unique is the use of 3-D models throughout. Things as big as a train to things as small as Anastasia's music box are 3-D models that have been mixed with 2-D animation. This movie is definitely underrated and after working with both animate and computer modeling, I have a newfound appreciation for it.
This past month I made what was probably one of my largest purchases I have ever made. I bought a Z1 custom Gretsch Hollow body guitar for $2500. I have always wanted one of these guitars because they are so beautiful and has a very distinct sound. They are one of the most widely used guitars in the jazz/rock ganre and has such a classic look. I have 2 other guitars, a Fender Stratocaster, and a Gibson Les Paul. I love music and playing guitar and I am very excited to be adding this to my collection.

Moana

this is my all-time favorite Disney movie, the graphics and setting are so pretty and so well done. It has a great storyline and is super interesting, I didn't know that they named Moana as a Disney princess when the movie came out but I find that super cool. If you haven't watched this movie yet (which I bet you have) I would highly highly recommend it. I have a new respect for all of Disneys' animated movies because they make them look so effortless to the point that you almost forget that the entire thing is animated, its really awesome to watch.
WandaVision is a recently popular show on Disney+ that seems to provide a past backstory of Wanda Maximoff and her husband, Vision Maximoff. The show starts as if the audience is watching an 80's sitcom and the episodes slowly progress to more modern sitcoms such as Modern Family. The show takes on a unique style where Wanda created her own world surrounded by walls that nobody can pass and you can only witness what happens through an old TV signal when they realized there were high levels of microwaves. I really loved the show and 10/10 recommend watching it.

Wall-E and Hello Dolly

I recently listened to Put On Your Sunday Clothes from Hello Dolly and had a realization that the song is in the Disney Pixar movie, Wall-E. The reason my brain put these two together is because I have so many memories watching Wall-E as a young child. I am now obsessed with that song.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bf_ERx3ca2M

star wars

Just recently I decided to re watch all of the star wars movies and the whole time I was extremely impressed with the animations and details. After learning how to animate, it really makes me appreciate this movie and how it was made more.
