Last weekend I saw the movie 1917, which was directed by Sam Mendes. What enticed me about this movie was how the movie seemed to be filmed in one shot. Recently on Jimmy Fallon, the main actor George Mackay said that it actually wasn't, but they wanted to give the movie that illusion. The movie is about two military soldiers who are tasked to deliver a message that could potentially save over 1600 soldiers. The movie starts out slow, but as it continues you start to root for the main character and feel their internal struggles. This movie has won two golden globes, and I would say is one of the best movies on 2019. If you haven't seen, you should take a day to go the movies.
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. They posted an interview on YouTube where they go behind the scenes for about 15mins and show you how they did some of the more major transitions.

ReplyDeleteThis movie looks very interesting. I haven't seen that many 'war' films; but, I remember seeing "Dunkirk" in theaters when it first came out and I enjoyed it. I might have to check this out.
ReplyDeleteMan I love these these type of films I really can't wait to see it!
