Artist Sarah Weyman, based out of UK, creates animal portraits using watercolor. Weyman has been painting her whole life and is self taught. Throughout her collection the color palette has a range of both muted and vibrant colors. Most of her portraits take up a majority of the space with a basic taupe background to keep the focus on the animals. I love watercolor and the added texture from it.
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Her use of watercolor is amazing. I love how you can still see the texture of each animal.
ReplyDeleteI like how despite using so many colors so closely they don't end up looking muddy like they all mixed together to create brown
ReplyDeleteWatercolor is so hard to master. I love how she used such vibrant colors
