Recently I picked up a collection of the graphic novel Nausicaa. Going in I knew it was going to be incredible because it was written and illustrated by Studio Ghibli. The same people who made Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, etc. All masterpieces of animation and storytelling. Nausicaa however was the only full feature film that was first a graphic novel and then a movie. The movie is great however the books are far Superior with some of the greatest hand drawn illustrations I've ever seen not to mention the story is so much longer and more detailed than the movie.
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. This looks awesome. I'm always looking for new comics to get into.
