Vivian Maier was an American woman born in 1926 best known for her black and white street photography. She worked as a nanny for most of her life, pursuing photography on the side and went undiscovered up until 2007. A Chicago collector named John Maloof purchased a trunk full of her unpublished photographs and negatives at an auction and later posted them on the internet. Her photos soon went viral and brought Vivian's name to fame. Her style of photography is what can only be described as 'bold'. She captures the lives she observes on the street in their raw forms, shooting pictures of strange interactions and perfectly illustrating urban life. Vivian's legacy and the photos she left behind have become an inspiration to photographers all around the world.

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love.
