These are a couple of my favorite paintings by Casey Weldon. I have decided to digital painting for my concentration and his work is going to be a huge inspiration for me. I really love how he adds surreal elements to his portraits to turn them into something completely new and unique. He also uses nice color schemes that add to the surreal effect, and gives each of his paintings a glowy look.
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. I really really like the first one. I like the added blue lines they really add an interesting effect and I like the artists take on water. I think the poses of the people in the first one are really cool and add a lot of emotion and story to the piece.
ReplyDeleteI like the bottom picture and how the green hues can be seen in each part of the composition from the background to the hair and clothes. I also like how realistic the sparks shooting out of the eyes look since the girl's head is facing up towards them.
