Apple's New MacBook Pro

Last week Apple revealed their newest laptop. From looking at it, you don't see a big difference. Except for one thing, the new touch bar. The touch bar is a bar across the top of the laptop's keyboard that is touch screen. The touch bar has many features that you can customize, like emojis, volume, brightness, etc. For more, watch this video by Apple.

Expressional Art (one of my fav artists)

One of My favorite artists is DestinyBlue, and she makes art from the perspective of peoples weaknesses, such as social anxiety and Depression and she makes great symbolism in her art and I wanted to share some of her work. You can see more of her work here.  c:

Stranger Things

If you've seen the new Stranger Things series on Netflix, you're probably hooked and recognize this character, Eleven, standing against the letter wall. I found this fan art on Pinterest/Tumblr and love the painting technique and loose style of the background. I also love the emotion and high contrast of shadows on the side of her face.

Insane Pumpkin Carving!

They call themselves "MANIAC Pumpkin Carvers", and they are very talented and detailed with their work. Many of their carvings are self portraits, as well as animal carvings. You should totally check out their website!  http://www.maniacpumpkincarvers.com/

Cool Halloween art

With Halloween coming up next week, I thought this painting would be appropriate to post. I really like how to orange contrasts so well with the black background. The orange accents on the pumpkin, the cat's eyes and the moon really make the photo pop and it provides an interesting contrast.
This image is of an eye. I picked this off the internet because it jumped out at me. Inside the eye you can see different colors and that is really interesting. I think they eye is crying because of the streaks of paint running from it. If you look at the deeper meaning you can really get your mind involved in the piece of art and put yourself in the artists perspective. I couldn't imagine the time it took to create this beautiful painting.

Songs

This is a song by Krewella that is remixed by Lost Kings. I posted this because I recently found out we are doing a music video later in the year and I thought that maybe the youtube channel that posted this would have some cool new, or old remixed songs people could use. The channel is called Proximity and I think you should try and check it out!

Double Exposure

I've decided to do double exposure for my concentration this year. I have always found double exposure cool and it can blend two photos to tell a story. These are a few album covers that show this form of art.

The Butterfly Dragon

This is one of my favorite animations that I've seen besides a "Rehearsal of the Heart" which was posted earlier on the blog. I love the contrast between the dark blue-grays and the suddenly bright white color of the Butterfly Dragon. There's no dialogue, just music, so the story is up for interpretation on how the viewer wants to take it. Hope you all like it as much as I do!
Cincygram - Dave Schmidt I came across a cool photography account on Instagram that really captured my attention. The account focuses on landmarks across Cincinnati and also provides Point of Views that most photographers wouldn't go as far to achieve. His name is Dave Schmidt and his account features only his own pictures which are taken with the Nikon D600.  If you are interested in his works you can follow his Instagram @cincygram or go to his website  cincygram.com

Tina-rannosaurus Wrecks

If you have yet to experience the wonders of Bob's Burgers I would highly suggest you watch a few episodes. It is on Netflix, just fyi, and this clip is one of my favorite scenes its from season 3 episode 7. Bob's Burgers art style is what I wanted to talk about, though. I think the clean, rather basic, look to the animation keeps it just weird enough for me to enjoy it without seeming like just another run of the mill series. The artists use stagnant backgrounds with the foreground the only action in the majority of the scenes; which keeps your attention on the dry right in your face humor that most of the characters in the show convey. All in all between the interesting characters and classic animation I think that Bob's Burgers is deserving of one of my favorite series I've seen. Enjoy the clip!

Damir Zoric

This is artwork by Damir Zoric, I stumbled upon his instagram and fell in love with his style. I love how he just goes with what comes to him, his art shows us whats in his mind and he really just lets his creativity flow. I think he also has really interesting stories and messages behind them, the last one is really interesting to me because its like the devil is trapping the people and controlling them in the maze, like a puppet-master. I love his dark style (if you know me you know I love really creepy things lol), but his artwork-whether you like creepy things or not-really captivates the viewer and makes you want to know more about it.

Casey Weldon

These are a couple of my favorite paintings by Casey Weldon.  I have decided to digital painting for my concentration and his work is going to be a huge inspiration for me. I really love how he adds surreal elements to his portraits to turn them into something completely new and unique. He also uses nice color schemes that add to the surreal effect, and gives each of his paintings a glowy look.

Dragon Obsession

Okay, so I am obsessed with dragons. Most of my time being flown away onto Google and DeviantArt to wander and adventure through the world of winged beasts. A spark of imagination and off to draw something else! Anyways, wandering around DeviantArt and I found this artist who mainly draws dragons and uploads two a week. The way she shades her drawings makes it seem like they could just come to life and hop right off the paper to fly around! Here are some of my favorites!   Here is more of this artist's work!
Hi everyone!! For my concentration I wanted to do a series of "dripping portraits" this technique is using digital painting. For each person I do I want to leave parts unfinished where each person has insecurities about themselves. I think the technique that these two artists used to look really good and I hope I can pull it off like they did!
Hey everyone here's another awesome kinda quirky concentration. I absolutely love the creativity of this concentration and how all the girls match their animal in some way through color or hairstyle. Good inspiration for a future AP DMA concentration.

Favorite season

Fall is probably my favorite season of the year cause it always looks amazing outside. This picture shows alot of bright orange leaves in the trees and on the ground. I just like all the bright colors and cool weather of fall and this photo brings the fall feeling to me.

Video Game Cover Art

Video game cover art is probably what drags me into buying a game the most. If the cover has some amazing art it usually drags me in. On Pinterest you can find so much cool cover art for so many games. Most action games like Halo, Call of Duty, Battlefield ect tend to have much cooler cover art then any other game. I think being a cover art designer would be a super cool job. Its basically your job to draw video games, thats pretty sweet. Below ill post some of my favorite cover art I have found.

Contour Line Drawing for Concentration

So for my concentration this year I was thinking about doing contour line drawing of buildings. The idea I have is still in the process but I really like how architecture turns out when created with the technique of contour line drawing. I think these three images express somewhat of how I would like my concentration to be.
HAH. Did you guys know I was supposed to post last week? ...Yeah me neither. Whatev I'll make it up next week. For now enjoy this short(ish) animation I saw AAAAAGES ago. It's really cool and I think it brings up some interesting points about good and evil in the world if you really stop to think about it. If you wanna know more you should find a bit of time to give it a watch. I also recommend checking out other videos from their channel, they do all kinds of cool animations!

LUNA

As I was scrolling through twitter I found the most beautiful product from ACORN studios. They created a lamp that looks exactly like the moon. When I first saw the pictures, I thought someone photoshopped a real picture of the moon into their hands, room, etc. As I started looking into it, I found they are actually individually crafted and painted glass lamps. Each are 100% handmade and therefore incredibly unique. I think it's really cool that the inspiration came directly from nature for this beautiful product. I personally am very inspired by nature in my artwork so it's nice to see examples of that transferring into someone's successful business. The moons are expensive, ranging from $80 for the smallest size (only 3 inches) to about $910 for the largest ( 23 inches). Since each one is handmade, there is about a 3 month turn around after ordering one. So if you order one right now it should be here just in time for Christmas!!

Ghostly Figures

In the spirit of Halloween coming up, i thought it would be appropriate to discuss long exposed pictures but with a moving object to give it a "ghostly" figure. The way theses shot are taken are over longer periods of time, compared to you simple quick shot photo. These pictures are exposed over multiple seconds on a stand (so the camera doesn't move) and then they have an element in the picture that is not there for the full exposure. For example the first photo was a picture of a ghostly girl hugging or sister, as it seems. The picture was taken over a multiple second duration, while the little girl ran up and hugged her sister and then ran away during the exposure to give her that ghostly figure. Same with the person putting their hand around the cup and taking them away (in the second photo) and the woman slowly walking down the stairs during the exposure to give the illusion that there are multiple of herself and at the same time giving her that ghostly ...

Paint Tool SAI

I found this video a while back and I just really love the colors and I love the show as well. It shows a  timelapse of a digital painting being completed.  I feel like it is very similar to how we did our digital painting project except we used a base image where as this artist made her own image.

Super Cool Filming Method!

I found this video on Instagram that shows how someone filmed a moving car scene. Of course this isn't how these scenes are always filmed, especially with big budget films, but I found it pretty cool nonetheless! amazing 🙌 follow me @art.ig for more amazing art posts daily 🎨✨ A video posted by THE ART INSTAGRAM ✨ (@art.ig) on Oct 1, 2016 at 6:13am PDT

David Fuhrer - Digital Media Artist

David Fuhrer is a digital media artist from Bern, Switzerland. I think his art is very cool and kind of deep, especially this tree piece. To me it represents how nature is kind of fading away into mechanical things, particularly with the destruction of rain forests because of it being a tree rather than a field of flowers or something else.  Another fairly deep artwork is this picture of earth that he also did. This one shows the way we've sort of altered earth with our manmade creations and have even stuck our influence out and into space. Overall, I think his work is very well-executed and professional looking, and makes you really think about what you're looking at. This is a website with some of his work if you would like to check it out!
