Tiny Treasures

Happy Leap Year! Recently we've been working on a project that has to do with tiny landscapes inside of a still object. These two pictures are my favorite because I really enjoy the color scheme in each. I also like how surreal this style of art is.

Food Photography

Hey guys! It's Josh. So two weekends ago I was helping a friend her BPA event, and stumbled upon a new interest in food photography. I think that it is incredible that a picture can evoke such emotion/ feeling (HUNGER). I'm definitely interested in learning more about food photography!!!

"Man" Flash Animation

I was looking up examples of animation, and a lot of the videos were either too advanced for us to make in flash, or were boring and simple. However, I found this short film titled "Man" by Steve Cutts. It is very simplistic in the animation style--he only used flash and after effects--but the story line is still powerful and thought provoking. I thought the sketched look of animation worked really well as well as the simple color scheme. Steve has made a lot of other short animations if you want to check out his channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpQLC-evmUAon9BBpcW4kYg

Flash Animation before Flash

I think that it is very interesting how people made famous cartoons such as Popeye, Tom and Jerry. The videos below are a video of the process that an animation team had to go through to create the well known scenes that we grew up watching.  I hope you enjoy it.
I really like this animation because its something we are doing and I fell like we are capable of doing an animation like this one.

Embroidery Pictures

Hey guys. So I was on Pinterest (shocker) and I came across these beautiful pieces. The artists used embroidery floss to stitch into the photos. Obviously it would be really easy to get kind of the same effect using photoshop, and it would save a lot of time, but I like how they actually stitched into the photos and spent the time and patience to do it. There are a few more pieces like this at  this link.
I love this album cover (not only because its my favorite album and my all time favorite band) but also because of the artistic design on the cover. The cover was designed by Matt Wisniewski
This Image by Jack Crossing one of my favorite artists shows an astronaut on fire crossing the street near Radio City Music hall in NYC.

Lilliputian Landscapes

I was on Pinterest and found this picture of people on sushi.  It kind of reminds me of our Tiny Landsacpes project and digital collage projects. I found a link with more of the artist's work, and really like it so I thought I would share. I really like how simple, but different and unique they are all.
Hello all, I'm here to share art from a long time favorite artist of mine.  (I suggest clicking on these for full view) These beautiful pieces above are created by the wonderful Pascal Campion, an artist that I discovered through deviantart many, many years ago. His art immediately drew me in because of the style and colors he used; most of his pieces are done in a sketchy, concept art looking way that I'm a sucker for. He manages to capture so many different moods with his use of tone, and absolutely gorgeous backgrounds and lighting techniques.  What I also really admire about him is his drive and constant dedication to the world of art. He has a daily sketch of the day that he will draw every morning, and if that isn't passion, then I don't know what is. He draws a majority of his inspiration from his family and love life as well, which to me gives everything an extra sense of realness.   If you're in need of art...

Digital painting

I really like this digital painting. I think its cool that they took something so realistic and used crazy colors for the hair to give it a surreal look

I'm Possible

“I can’t do this.” For many years, this was my reality. But it was a lie. A simple truth changed everything for me. It can for you, too.  I can’t do this. I’m not good enough. I’ll never be a success. These lies keep us from living, working and dreaming. It doesn’t have to be this way. In “I’m Possible.” I share my story. -  Jeremy Cowart

Tiny Landscape

Hey everyone! While I was brainstorming for our next AP project I came across these tiny landscapes that were painted rather than with photography. I love how intricate each painting is! I like the difference between these works compared to what we are doing next!

Cover Design

Hey it's Morgan. I came across this on my Pinterest board and am totally obsessed with this cover! It is so simple and the layout/design looks amazing! The contrast between the tan and the colored leaves makes this an attractive cover.
The last project we worked on in DMA I was light graffiti. While looking for examples, I came across this. Although it's not actually light graffiti. It's created from smoke trail photography that the artist photoshopped together. I just thought it was really cool and how clean the smoke looks in contrast with the black background.

Silhouette with text

After finishing the silhouette and text project, I saw this on Pinterest and thought it was a really cool example. I like the color scheme and the watercolor texture.  I also like the watercolor spots against the white background.

Jewelry Design

Iv'e decided that it would be a really good idea to add a 3D design class. We could do a jewelry making project and make stuff like these awesome rings and necklaces.  There were some really cool jewelry concentrations and pieces at Scholastics. It's all possible.

Banksy

I absolutely love Banksy, I love that all of his art is not only nice to look at but it also touches upon issues in society and makes a statement.

Pac-Man Light Graffiti

Hey everybody! This is a photo I found that fits in perfectly with the current DMA 1 light graffiti project! It's a great example of using what appears to be a light wand. You can use these to produce an amazing light painting of an image by slowly waving the wand across the span of the photo before the shutter clicks. The image will be produced column by column as you move the wand so that your finished product shows the completed image together, while the person posed in the photo would have to remain stationary the whole time. I think this is a really clever photo, what about you guys?

Food Photography

Hellooo... I've been looking at a lot of food photography lately for the BPA photography virtual event. I noticed it's really interesting if there's bright colors, along with texture whether it's on the food or in the background. In these I really like the pops of color with the contrast of the wood background.

Carved Books

Good morning, I found these photos on Pinterest, they're very pinteresting (that could be an adjective or a verb if you think about it). The carvings are incredibly intricate, and I also am always intrigued by the idea of destroying something to make art. I think it would be really cool if the landscapes were settings that existed inside the book but who knows you know?
I like this photo because of the black and white color scheme but his uniform is red and it representative of people trying to stop him.

WaterLight Graffiti

I love this picture because the guy is so into the artwork and the passion of his work. The way he's so into the design of the graffiti is some astounding. I love the font and calligraphy that he is portraying. This is so cool.

Hey, Wait!

Serve the Servants The late and great Kurt Cobain's birthday is coming up. February 20th will mark what would've been his forty-eighth birthday. Here is a lyric from Nirvana's In Utero B-side "Serve the Servants". I like the way Kurt's hair is curled up and floating away with what looks like smoke underneath him. The photo s overall spooky and wears an eerie aura that Cobain embodied within himself and his artwork.

Light Graffiti using stencils

I think this piece is so amazing because the stencil has many details and the use of light graffiti really captures an entirely new image.

Light Graffiti

Since we are learning about Light Graffiti I think this is a very interesting piece. It is so amazing how the lights could create something like this and I love details in the palm tree.

Pencil art

Sup guys, sorry this is late but you guys need to check out this awesome art called pencil lead art! The pencil tips are sculpted into shapes or whatever. This takes such a long time and you need such a high attention for detail

Ghostly Images

Hey guys! We're starting light graffiti in DMA 1 and had to pick a technique to present to the class. I picked light graffiti with stencils and I love these images by Wittner Fabrice. He shot these in Vietnam after an earthquake earlier that year and I really like how seamless the stencils fit into the background. The use of the background gives a greater sense of what it's like to live in Vietnam and makes the pictures very haunting.

Clique Art

Twenty One Pilots are a musical duo composed of Josh Dun and Tyler Joseph. Most people know their music, but for those of you who don't, they have a lot of very poetic and complex songs with a mix of rap/spoken word and vocals that explore the dark parts of the human condition. Their group of followers have created a lot of fan pieces, called Clique Art, and I wanted to share a few. I love the simplicity and the recurring color scheme of black, white and red. While these are from various artists, the colors and theme stay the same, holding true to the meaning and theme of the band.
