Envision Project III

This winter, I applied and was accepted into a program called the Envision Project III, which is a 4-month long film photography class/workshop. It takes place at Manifest Drawing Center just outside of Cincinnati. I already have a Nikon film camera, so I’ve been doing all my film photography on it, and last week I developed my first three rolls of black & white film! Film photography lends itself to the mind of the artist, as the way the photograph comes out is determined completely by how the photographer chooses to shoot the photo, and how they use the chemistry to develop their film and prints. The Envision Project III has been an incredible learning opportunity, and I’m excited to see how I grow as an artist through this project. I’ve attached a photo of one of my first prints so everyone can see what it’s like.

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Speed Painting

This a painting made in Photoshop by a guy who goes by the name " The Concept Painter " on Youtube. He does lots of Photoshop speed painting videos and also air brush videos. This particular painting took him 3.5 hours to complete and was made using a drawing tablet similar to the ones we use in our class.

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017. Eventually, I will talk about Marvel comic book artists, but not today. If you want to check out more of her work, here is her website:  https://www.anniewuart.com/
