Playboi Carti Album cover concept

This isn't an actual cover for him i just like how it looks.

Water color sketches

Found three of these really cool sketches colored in with water color paint done by artist Manny Lucero. It is amazing how much detail there is within these water color sketches. If you want to go check him out his instagram handle is mannneylucero ... there are many more amazing sketches done that are pictured on his feed.

Donald Trump

Hearing about trump involved with anything usually catches the eye of the public. But this time its for the worse. Trump used $60,000 of his Foundations funds on a painting portrait of himself.

Tyler the Creator

I love the colors in this picture and how the outfit really pops because of the background color, I also like that he looks like he's going to shoot himself with the slingshot.

Lil Pump

Here the album cover for Lil Pump's newest album is shown. I really like the different shades of purple he used throughout. The contrast between all the shades of purple is very pleasing to the eye. Overall I think this is a great album cover.

Pixie and Brutus

Pixie and Brutus is an Instagram comic by @pet_foolery. This comic is specifically about the life of a little cat named Pixie and a military working dog named Brutus. While Brutus looks like he wouldn't be so nice he often helps Pixie in these mini comics. I enjoy these comics because I like the way the characters that @pet_foolery made look. I like the way line is incorporated into these comics and they always look so professional.

Creatting Objects Into Fun Creatures

These photos show how just about any object can be transformed into a fun creature. Sometimes, the creature you make up will be extremely cool, like these example pictures of a one-eyed monster skateboarding, a frog with tall eyes, and Bart Simpson parachuting. This concept of turning objects into cool characters applies well with the animation unit we're starting.

Generation 8 Tattoo

Generation 8 Tattoo is a tattoo shop in Los Angeles California. It is one of Hollywood's best tattoo shop. It is home to some of the best tattoo artists in LA. Generation 8 Tattoos are all custom and one of kind. I think tattoos are seen negatively but I think they can actually have a lot of meaning, and some can be very artistic.    Instagram: @Generation8Tatto0

Tatsuya Tanaka, Miniature Sculptor and Photographer

Tatsuya Tanaka is a Japanese miniature sculptor and photographer. He is best known for his "Miniature Calendar" exhibition, which received a lot of attention from internet viewers and consequently went viral. I found his artwork through Instagram, where he posts a different miniature sculptor every day. His 3-D still-lifes first caught my attention due to their intricacy and clever basis. It is the composition and reimagining of the use of everyday objects into tiny scenes that appeals most to any viewer. I added some of my favorites below! Check out Tanaka's website or follow him on Instagram @tanaka_tatsuya.

Red art thing

Every week I see this piece in oxford. Every time I see it I wounder what its supposed to be.

Take on me

This is the music video for Take On Me by a-ha. The music video is a really cool drawing animation video and is one of my favorite videos.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djV11Xbc914

Blue Eyed Cat

I love these images of this cat because the picture shows the beauty around the cat but also makes you want to look at the cats blue eyes. The colors is the images are vibrant but don't take away from the main focus of the picture. I want to try a similar technique with my pet one day.

Spirited Away

I watched Spirited Away this weekend and I thought it was a good movie. Because of our past experience with 2D animation I can appreciate how excellent this looks because I thought it was very difficult.

Cat Beard

This is cat art. In this it looks like he has hair and a beard but really it is a bunch of furry cats. To me he looks like Thor from the avengers but with a cat beard. The Almighty God of Cat Beards and Thunder!!!

Model Sheet: Anri

Here's a model sheet of my character I'm working on in class. Excuse the poor quality, I don't know how else to get it to fit on the page in blogger without it being so small.

Jordan Peele's Us Poster

Last week, Jordan Peele released a new poster for his upcoming horror film, Us . I really love this poster, because it shows the parallels between the protagonist and antagonist of the movie, which ultimately is just yourself. I really loved Get Out (2017) and I can't wait to see what else Jordan Peele does!

Agnes Cecile Watercolor

I love watercolor pieces! I find these ones very interesting compositionally. I love how the direction of the watercolor, guides the viewers eyes. The color schemes are also very well thought out. I feel like it's a great way to take a spin on portraits.

Scholastics Piece

When we went on the field trip last Friday, we were asked to pick out our favorite piece of work and write the artist a fan letter. This was my favorite piece.

Into The Wild

Into The Wild is the story of Christopher McCandless, a college graduate who abandoned his identity to live on the road under the name of Alexander Supertramp. He traveled all across the U.S.for three years, before ultimately meeting his fate in the wilderness of Alaska, where he had been living off the land in an abandoned bus. McCandless was a fanatic for nonconformism. He wouldn't accept society for what it was, and wanted to make a change. This is one of his last photos taken before his body was found aboard the bus. For those of you who haven't read the book/seen the movie, I highly recommend taking a look at Into The Wild.

Bosslogic

Bosslogic is an artist that I've followed on Instagram for a long time.  He does a lot of art relating to movies and comic books.  He is probably the most popular artist when it comes to fan made concept art and such.  If you get a chance, check him out.  https://www.instagram.com/bosslogic/?hl=en

Animation vs animator

This is a video of an Animator who created a video call Animation vs Animator and I love the way he tells the story in this video. He uses the same program to animate that we do. And based on the video it seems like it would have taken a while to make it.

Animation

Since we're starting animation this week, I've been watching a lot of student animation videos. These are two of my all time favorites. Diamond Jack   by Rachael Kim I like this animation because it's a lot of frame by frame. It pretty roughly done, but still looks really good. They make good use of space and size. The characters take up the frame in a way that is interesting and appealing. The animator allows for some stretch and blur to the characters motions so that they more mimic the actions of real people. FELLINLOVEWITHAGIRLLLL   by DeadlyComics I like this one because it's just amusing. The character is pretty simple, but the animator uses fluid movements and dramatic expressions to make it interesting to watch.

Jack Storms, Glassblower

Jack Storms is a famous glassblower. He has created works for people all over the country, including the president of Nigeria, and for the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. He uses a cold glass sculpting process to reach his results. His work is magical in design, with a contemporary feel. The reflective qualities makes it eye-catching, and interesting to look at.

Angel Ganev

Angel Ganev is a Bulgarian illustrator. Ganev creates elaborate, colorful, dreamlike, digital and paper drawings. Below are a few of his digital portraits but his pencil portraits are phenomenal as well. Ganev has a special style in which his digital art is very imaginative and captures an innocence within his models. His art is realistic yet cartoonish at the same time with strategic, harmonious color schemes. Check out Angel's Instagram @angelganev

Pierre Huyghe

Pierre Huyghe is a Paris and New York based artist who has focused on site-specific and time based pieces since the 1990s. Huyghe's work focuses on three aspects- object, space and time. His work stands out to me, because of its modern realism.  “To start [a work], I always need to create a world. Then [I] enter this world, and that walk through this world is the work.” -Pierre Huyghe

Spiderman- Into the Spiderverse

These are shots from Spider man- Into the Spiderverse. This film had unbelievable animation that mimicked the style of a comic book. The coloring was very cohesive as well, using deep blues and purples throughout the film. The above photos are good examples of the way the animators created a cool-colored setting to surround Spider man.
