Brandon Woelfel is a photographer who has started to make a name for himself especially over social media platforms like instagram and twitter. All of his portraits look very similar and experiment with different lighting sources. He posts a lot about different techniques he uses and different perspectives on his photos which is really interesting, but I always love seeing his before and after photos. It shows that being a good photographer isn't 100% about actually taking the picture, but a lot of what you can do in photoshop after can make or break a photo. He says he takes all his photos in camera RAW so that he has the maximus editing potential, which is apparent in these! I love that all of his pictures use similar cooler tones. I am always impressed when I see how drastically he changed the picture to match his style!

  1. Oh, this is so cool! Some of the photos have a sort of surreal, almost Disney-like feel to them. Very pretty, very cool!!

  2. I love this effect on the photo. It adds a lot of cool crazy colors that make it very interesting to look at. Almost like changing a very dark dull photo into a very light place.

  3. I love the way he uses lights to create the scenes for his photos. I also love the colors he uses and all of his work seems to have a similar look, and makes it easy to recognize when a piece is his.

  5. I just loved how just a little difference in the light or brightness made the picture look completely different and 100 times better.

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Speed Painting

This a painting made in Photoshop by a guy who goes by the name " The Concept Painter " on Youtube. He does lots of Photoshop speed painting videos and also air brush videos. This particular painting took him 3.5 hours to complete and was made using a drawing tablet similar to the ones we use in our class.

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017. Eventually, I will talk about Marvel comic book artists, but not today. If you want to check out more of her work, here is her website:  https://www.anniewuart.com/
