Holiday Lights

I have been really in the Christmas spirit especially since exam week has begun! These are some images of Christmas lights. The top one is in New York City and the bottom one is an ornament surrounded by colored lights. These images really get me in the holiday spirit! :)

Running Sequence

I've always thought drawings or videos of something running was so amazing. I love any scenes in movies that have someone running or riding a horse along side the camera because I feel like it's not an angle we naturally see. I think it would be interesting to do a project of a drawing or animation with a running sequence.

Dr. Woo Tattoos

I found this tattoo artist a few years ago while my sister was planning her tattoo. He goes by Dr. Woo, and is one of the most booked tattoo artists in the country. Many people like his art style because of its extremely detailed look using geometric shapes. These shapes and thin lines are unique to him, making his tattoos easy to point out, and hard to recreate. Here are some of my favorite tattoos by him-

Mind Over Matter// Young The Giant

This is my favorite music video not only because of the song and the band but also because the video has a constant artistic scenery change using only a few props and video projection. The end result is truly beautiful.

Nail Art

With Christmas coming up very soon I see more and more girls getting their nails done. I love the great amount of detail that some people are able to do in such a tiny amount of space. I can't even imagine trying to work in such a tiny space. They look great though. I wonder how long it takes and how much practice you need to have to get that advanced!?

Pixar's Short Films

In the Disney Pixar films they always feature a short clip before the actual movie done by a small group of people who excel at graphic design and story telling. This one is one of my most memorable short films ever for me growing up as a kid. I loved the way they told the story of the old man playing chess against himself and how  such a simple story can get so intense. Even though its not the best animation to what we have today, its still one of my favorite short films for its simplicity and its humor.

"Dream Chapter" by Marta Berens

I found an interesting photography series titled 'Dream Chapter', in which every photograph seems surreal and fairytale-like although nothing has been altered in post. It gives an interesting perspective to the idea that certain lighting and props can change the feel of a photograph altogether, even when the subjects and places really do exist. The entire series can be found here .

Vector Logos

Here are some cool examples of simple logo designs. I love how they have a limited color palette and a strong center of interest that catches your eye. Any of these images would make for great logos due to their simplistic yet eye catching designs.
Here are some examples I found on typography. These are good examples of how people can be very creative and that the ideas are limitless. Im going to enjoy this project because you can really do whatever comes to your mind and try to make it come together on illustrator.

Cool Astronaut Art

I really like this style of art. It has unique strokes that make it more interesting to look at. The picture is all black and white but because of the art style it is very interesting. The pose he/she is in also makes you think about what could be in front of him. I'd like to experiment with this type of art more.

Chris Burkard

Chris Burkard is a self-taught photographer that I recently found out about. Burkard’s work is layered by landscape, lifestyle, surf, outdoor and travel subjects. He also does his own workshops and online workshops. His photographs make great wallpapers for your phone. Linked below is his website and some of his work. Website:  http://www.chrisburkard.com/

Bird Buildings

I so wish I had the time for this.     There is a lady in Portland, Maine by the name of Jada Fitch who make tiny bird "rooms" complete with painted interior and food supplies. She makes them by painting inside boxes and attaching them to her window so she can watch and photograph the birds' actions (she is an illustrator and uses these photos as references). These rooms aren't for permanent residence by the birds, though. They usually only stay long enough for some food. :)      I thought this was so cool and creative of her. I really wish I had the time for a project like this, but between school and sports and stuff I barely have time to sleep XD I have been meaning to start painting again though, I used to paint more than I do now.
Low-Poly art has really begun to fascinate me. For my project I'm currently working on its done in Low-Poly form. The thing I love about this style of art is how it really makes the image pop, almost 3D like. I also really enjoy the texture of the style of art. Its like a smooth image and I really like it. Poly-Art is a very time consuming thing to do because it takes a good amount of time to do, I know from the project I am currently working on. It requires precision and lots a patience. Below I will post some of my favorite examples of pop art!

3D Animations - Mikael Gustafsson

So, while on Pinterest, I stumbled across this animator/3d modeler/game designer, named Mikael Gustafsson, who creates simple yet beautiful 3D animations and is even working on an iOS game. I love how he makes such simple animations, usually with the camera moving and/or one character moving, but also makes them pretty and cool to look at. His animations are very atmospheric, I feel, as each animation and place he creates has its own personality of sorts, and each animation has its own color palette that he used to create these worlds. Here are a few of his animations: You can find more of his stuff here:  https://dribbble.com/mikaelgustafsson His Instagram page is this:  https://www.instagram.com/mklgustafsson/ He also has a twitter!  https://twitter.com/mklgustafsson Hope you all enjoy looking at his stuff like I do!

Poly Art

This is a tutorial to teach you how to do low poly art and I thought it was very helpful!  This video is very in depth and really helps if you have a symmetrical picture.
