Hi guys! As we start to think about what to do for our concentration pieces for AP, I wanted to share some ideas to get those creative juices flowing. The first image kind of has that fashion vibe to it with layers of patterns and textures. I love how it looks like there's fabric layered on the faces along with the different color schemes used. Each piece is very different, but they all stay with a similar theme. I see the next piece as if there are two different sides of the person showing. The left side is very harsh and her eye makeup is very dark to portray this side of her. It's almost as if she's exploding from the inside and out. On the opposite side, it looks like she's crying and there are very hard strokes used, maybe to define who she actually is? Overall this piece is very dramatic and could be an incredible concentration idea.
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. I love the contrast with the black and white photos and how the artist added pops of color within the black and white photos. The patterns on/behind the face add a unique technique to this artwork.
ReplyDeleteI love how the colorful backgrounds make a basic, plain black and white portrait into something interesting and different!
