Over spring break I was able to see a couple pieces by one of my favorite contemporary artists Robert Rauschenberg at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. His work is usually mixed media that incorporates everything from paint to matresses to taxidermied goats. His work was was part of the expressionist art movement in the 1950s that anticipated the pop art movement of the 1960s. These are a couple pictures I took of two works the first named "Rubus" and the second "Bed. It was difficult to capture all the details of the pieces in just one picture but I did my best. Enjoy!
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. I really like the grunge and weathered look of these pieces. In a weird way, it's almost sickening but really intriguing. Just awesomeness
