Miami University Arts Day

Do you have questions about studying the arts in college? How do you put together a portfolio,
or prepare for an audition?  What high school courses will ready you to major in the arts?
Students in grades 10-12, their parents as well as art/music/theatre teachers are invited to a
day of arts exploration. Join faculty, staff, and students in Architecture+Interior Design,ArtMusic,
Theatre, and Interactive Media Studies in a day dedicated to helping YOU discover the arts at Miami!
Throughout the day, you’ll find answers to questions such as:
  • Are there internships in the arts at Miami University?
  • To major in art or design, what makes a good portfolio for admission?
  • What exactly is an audition interview for theatre?
  • Why do I need a portfolio for architecture or interior design, and what should be included in it?
  • Why study music at Miami, and when should I audition?
  • What do Miami’s creative arts graduates do after college?

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Malena Bozzini         Malena Bozzini is a sophomore college student studying psychology. As her passion she is an artist. Her work is so original and abstract in order to dramatize her figures. She creates art out of emotion and uses her feelings to choose color and shape. One of the most interesting facts is that all of her pieces are done with colored pencils. Her art is so expressive that each piece gives out its own vibe. What makes her art unique is that it is inspired by motion and gestures. It is amazing how she developed such a style at such a young age.  Instagram @ malenabozzini

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017. Eventually, I will talk about Marvel comic book artists, but not today. If you want to check out more of her work, here is her website:  https://www.anniewuart.com/
