Selections '11 Exhibition at the College of Mount St. Joseph

By Zoe Rodrieguez
Congratulations to DMA I students Matt Liebowitz and Zoe Rodrieguez.  Both were selected for this year’s “Selections ’11″ art exhibition. “Selections” is a biennial exhibition and scholarship competition organized by the College of Mount St. Joseph Departments of Art & Design. “Selections” is designed to celebrate the creative accomplishments of student artists, honor deserving individuals, and salute the excellent art programs in area schools.  Over 160 works of arts created by juniors and seniors in 48 local high schools were selected for the exhibition.  Matt and  Zoe were each selected to receive one of only four $2000 renewable Art Scholarships awarded to outstanding students participating in Selections '11.  Matt and Zoe's work was on exhibition at Studio San Giuseppe on the campus of Mt. St. Joe from Nov. 6 until Dec. 2, 2011.

  1. Both of these pictures are really cool. The cat picture almost looks photoshopped because it has so many colors in it.

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Malena Bozzini         Malena Bozzini is a sophomore college student studying psychology. As her passion she is an artist. Her work is so original and abstract in order to dramatize her figures. She creates art out of emotion and uses her feelings to choose color and shape. One of the most interesting facts is that all of her pieces are done with colored pencils. Her art is so expressive that each piece gives out its own vibe. What makes her art unique is that it is inspired by motion and gestures. It is amazing how she developed such a style at such a young age.  Instagram @ malenabozzini

The Art Of Trevor Henderson

Hello everyone! today I'm going to talk about one of my favorite Instagram artists, Trevor Henderson! The reason why I like Trevor Henderson's art is that I really like how disturbing and creepy is art is. Here are a few examples of some of his art.
